On July 14, Oricon Style reported the first half numbers including sales from singles, albums, and DVDs. According to the numbers, BTS was the only foreign group listed in any of the categories among the other J-POP stars.

BTS's 7th Japanese single "Blood, Sweat, Tears" which was released on May 10 ranked number 10 on the singles chart for the first half of 2017. It was revealed that they were the first foreign artist to sell over 220,000 copies of their single album in 6 years. "Blood, Sweat, Tears" sold a total of 238,795 copies just during the first week.

Other popular Japanese idols such as AKB48, Arashi, Nogizaka46, Kanjani Eight, and Hey! Say! Jump were also included in the rankings. However, BTS shined brightest in between the famous J-Pop stars.

Moreover, BTS set the record for a foreign artist base in surpassing 220,000 copies for a single album as they accomplished this in just a 2 year and 11-months after their official Japanese debut. The boys thanked their fans around the globe assuring them that their accomplishments wouldn't be there without their ARMY.
